What is the class? We will be hand stitching in a new location in Derby's city centre, Derby Museum's new café. It's light, airy and surrounded by tea artefacts and books. The class is relaxed, fun and caters for up to 15 crafters.
What will I be making? The class is hand stitching using embroidery hoops to work with and to frame our finishes piece. We will be stitching an old fashioned monogram letter onto a piece of fabric selected by you from the stash. Then with your letter template we will be hand embroidering or applique-ing (using fabric). We will be providing pretty embellishments for your hoops including ribbons, buttons and fabric paints and crayons to provide a vintage touch. Learn new techniques in stitching, applique and fabric printing to make your own textile decorative art.
What level? Any level, no prior stitching knowledge needed. If you are experienced we have stitches and techniques for you too!
Do I need to bring anything? No, everything is provided including tea and cake. Will I finish in the class? We aim to finish in the class but you can take your work home if you wish so you don't rush.
Can I bring children? Yes, the class is suitable for 10+ but accompanied with an adult.
The price of £10 is non refundable but you can pass your ticket to a friend if you cannot make it. Please check you can make the class before booking.
