From The Archives, Create Textile Art Inspired By Georgian Dress

What is the class? Pickford’s House are delighted to share with us their beautiful collection of Georgian Ladies accessories for us to be inspired to create a piece of textile art with support and guidance from Samantha.
What will I be making? Looking at embroidery, colours and decorations of the artefacts, we will create a 15cm textile heart or monogram design. Samantha will show you have to create a mood board, sketch your inspiration to plan your project the morning. Loose yourself in creating a piece of textile art using fabrics, ribbons and embroidery threads in the afternoon. You can create your art on a cotton bag or on cotton fabric to frame it in an embroidery hoop. If you are new to textile art, we will guide you through the techniques. All materials and sketch pad provided plus vintage tea in the morning and afternoon. Please bring a packed lunch.
What level? Any level, no prior knowledge needed. If you are experienced stitcher we can provide you with the inspiration and techniques for your project.
Do I need to bring anything? All materials are provided including vintage tea and cake.
Will I finish in the class? We aim to finish in the class but you can take your work home if you wish so you don't rush.
Can I bring children? Yes, the class is suitable for 10+ but accompanied with an adult.
The price of £35.00 is non refundable but you can pass your ticket to a friend if you cannot make it. Please check you can make the class before booking.
