'Our first full day by popular demand! In the morning you will have the opportunity to look through the archives at Pickford’s House with a member of staff talking you through the Georgian lady’s accessories; gloves, bags and parasols. After lunch you will be able to create your own frame handle bag inspired by the artefacts.
What is the class? We will be making in the kitchens at Pickford's House, a beautifully preserved Georgian townhouse a few minutes walk from Derby Museum and the Cathedral Quarter. The class is relaxed, fun and caters for up to 6 crafters.
What will I be making? In the class we will be learning how about the Georgian lady's accessories and sewing a framed everyday bag inspired by the artefacts. All materials are provided. Taught by textile designer Samantha Schofield, the class is for all levels.
We will be providing pretty embellishments including ribbons, buttons to add details.
What level? Any level, no prior stitching knowledge needed. If you are experienced we have stitches and techniques for you too!
Do I need to bring anything? All materials are provided including tea and cake.
Will I finish in the class? We aim to finish in the class but you can take your work home if you wish so you don't rush.
Can I bring children? Yes, the class is suitable for 10+ but accompanied with an adult.
The price of £35 is non refundable but you can pass your ticket to a friend if you cannot make it. Please check you can make the class before booking.
